Our own Kelly McNeil studies with Robert Bateman

Dragonfly Arts on Broadway artist Kelly McNeil has been personally selected by renowned wildlife artist Robert Bateman to join him in the Master Artist Seminar this October. McNeil’s work is recognized for her ability to capture the life, vitality and warmth of her subjects.

Kelly McNeil loves her craft. She lives to paint. Like most wildlife artists she loves the adventure of hunting for that perfect image or idea, inspired by something wild. In 2013, McNeil has been adding to her awards with the Best in Show this year in Niagara Falls and the top prize at the prestigious Colour and Form Society in Toronto.

“Kelly’s paintings always generate interest and excitement,” explains Joan Hope, Owner of Dragonfly Arts, “Her vivid colour palette, attention to the small details and use of light make her wildlife paintings spectacular. We can only imagine what lies ahead for Kelly after studying with the most prominent wildlife artist in Canada.”

McNeil graduated with an Editorial Illustration Diploma before returning to Ontario College of Art and Design and graduating with a Batchelor of Design. McNeil is represented by Dragonfly arts on Broadway and shows her work internationally from Orangeville to the US and as far as Tasmania.

“I really feel that I have succeeded when someone looks at one of my paintings and can’t help but smile.” Adds McNeil before heading out on her wildlife adventure.

McNeil’s wildlife paintings can be found at Dragonfly Arts on Broadway and are currently featured in their Window on Broadway during the month of October.
